Meet Imam Ammar

Hi, I’m Imam Ammar!

Born and bred in good ol’ Yorkshire! I did all my studies in a little town called Dewsbury before moving to York for my degree in English Language and Linguistics.

I spent 10 years studying and practising to become an Imam at the institute where I grew up. This journey involved memorising the Qur’an, writing theses, and conducting extensive research in Islamic and other fields. Eventually, I became the Imam of York Mosque at just 21 years old.

Currently living in York, I’m a huge café goer and a big foodie. I’ve probably eaten at every halal food spot in town! I’m also a huge F1 fan and love football, though being a Man United fan can sometimes be a challenge. Naturally, I enjoy reading, especially anything Sci-Fi.
